The amount of this scholarship may vary year to year and is determined by the funds available and by the number of awards made. When awarded to incoming freshmen, the scholarship may be renewed for 3 consecutive years provided the student completes the reapplication process and continues to meet the standards established by the selection committee.
James J. & Mildred M. Postma Scholarship
Through an endowment fund established by the James J. and Mildred M. Postma Estate, high school seniors residing in the Sioux Center Community School District and enrolling as full-time college students are eligible to apply for a scholarship award to attend the trade school, 2-year college, or 4-year college of their choice.
About the Scholarship:
This scholarship is available to 2020 High School graduates who are residents of the Sioux Center Community School District and are enrolling as full-time college students. It also also available to recipients whose permanent residence is in the Sioux Center Community School District, who received a Postma award for their previous consecutive year(s) of college, and who intend to continue as full-time students. The recipients shall be selected from the applications received by the selection committee, pending confirmation of enrollment in the fall semester.
The amount of this scholarship varies from year to year, depending on the number of recipients. It may be renewed for 3 consecutive years provided the student reapplies and continues to meet the standards of the selection committee. It is the responsibility of the student to check for the renewal application each year.
For a student to be considered for the Postma Scholarship, he/she must submit two signed copies of the 4-page application along with two copies of all necessary documentation to the library, delivered or postmarked no later than 5pm Friday, May 15, 2020. Early submissions are encouraged.

2020/2021 Postma Scholarship Application for 2020 high school graduates:
To apply for this scholarship, 2020 high school graduates must have a permanent residence in the Sioux Center Community School District and must intend to enroll as full-time college students.
2020/2021 Postma Scholarship Renewal Application for returning students:
To apply for a renewal, current college students must have a permanent residence in the Sioux Center Community School District, must be recipients of a Postma award for their previous consecutive year(s) of college, and must intend to continue as full-time students. Renewals can be awarded for up to 3 years.
