The library has an extensive collection of genealogical materials including local family histories, photos, newspapers, cemetery records, microfilm, and other items of interest.

Genealogy resources are located in the south-central area of the library, east of the circulation desk.

The Greater Sioux County Genealogical Society meets at 7pm in the Sioux Center Public Library on the third Monday of April, June, August, September, October, and November. Coffee & refreshments are provided.

GSCGS volunteers are also present at the library on Wednesday afternoons to provide research assistance from 1p.m. – 3p.m.
