COVID-19 Closing Letter
March 15, 2020
Dear Sioux Center Community,
I am sad to tell you that we are temporarily closing the library to the public, effective immediately. We will keep you updated as to a time frame as soon as we know more. This is a decision we do not take lightly. We have worked for years to make our library a hub in our community and, having done that, we now have a thriving, busy library. That poses challenges in light of the COVID-19 outbreak.
We will, however, still be here for you. We will be answering the phone and email (firstname.lastname@example.org) with limited staffing. We will continue to update our social media with ways you can use your library online along with other ideas for keeping your kids and yourself busy these next few weeks. We are working on other ways to get you what you need and will be updating you on those in the coming days. We will use email, social media, and our website to keep you all informed. If you do not follow us on Instagram or Facebook, now would be a great time to do so!
We will continue to provide the many digital services you have come to love including
- eBooks and eAudiobooks (Cloud Library, OverDrive, rbdigital, Hoopla)
- Magazines (rbdigital, OverDrive)
- Music (Hoopla)
- Movies and TV shows (Hoopla, rbdigital)
- Online courses (LinkedIn Learning with Lynda)
- Language learning (Transparent Language)
- Online tutoring (Brainfuse)
You can still return materials during our closing. We will not fine you for overdue items during this time. Everyone’s highest priority right now is their health and coping with all of the changes we are experiencing.
We value our community and we encourage you to follow the recommendations from Centers for Disease Control and local entities. Let’s do what we can together to get through this experience and make it safe for each other.
We will have more information for you soon.
