It’s National Library Week April 12-18

You won’t want to miss all the exciting events for all ages that are happening at the Sioux Center Public Library during National Library Week. National Library Week was first started in 1958 and is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support. This year’s theme is “Unlimited possibilities @ your library”.

Kids will be able to search the library to find our hidden stuffed animal for a prize, create something for our LEGO contest, and read books for a chance to win a dog! Families will enjoy making their own cardboard cars and our drive-in movie on Saturday, April 18 from 1:00-3:30pm. Adults won’t want to miss “Exploring the Flavors of America’s Heartland” with Dan Kaercher on April 13th at 7:00pm or meeting local authors at our Author Dessert event on April 14 at 6:30pm. The Sioux Center Public Library and the Dordt College Hulst Library are co-hosting an Edible Book Contest on Friday, April 17. There is no registration required for any of these events. We also have our prize wheel, book contests, free replacement library cards and are slashing fines in half! Check out all events on our website at

This is a great week to explore the unlimited possibilities that the Sioux Center Public Library has to offer and to spend time with family and friends at the library. We look forward to seeing you!
