The Sioux Center Public Library is excited to welcome three new members to the library board.

Lisa Dykstra was born and raised in the Sioux Center area and has lived in Sioux Center for the past 24 years with her husband, Dave. She is an insurance agent for Perspective Insurance and is also active in leading her church’s youth programs. She is excited to be on the board and to find out more about what the library offers and help improve in any way she can. Lisa says that she finds the library very inviting and that it is fun to see the new books highlighted each week as she enjoys reading a variety of books.

Bob Pollema is married to MaryBeth and they have three kids, Noah, Micah & Anneka. The family has recently moved back to the Sioux Center area after serving in a variety of positions for the past 23 years from church planters in Las Vegas to missionaries in Belize. Bob is currently working as a “helpful smile in every aisle” at HyVee as he waits for a call to ministry where God would lead him. Bob is looking forward to serving on the Library Board and being a part of the Sioux Center community.

Ruth Clark and her family have recently moved to Sioux Center. Ruth’s husband, Tom is a math professor at Dordt College. Ruth is a homemaker and enjoys caring for her kids, ages 3 and 1. She is excited about being on the library board because it allows her to take a more active role as a citizen at a highly-utilized community facility. Ruth says that the library is a wonderful place for all ages, and has certainly assisted her family in transitioning to this community. Her children love checking out library books and attending events, including Babygarten, Story Time, Toddler Time and the summer programs. She appreciates the convenient library hours, great programs and helpful staff. As a former English teacher she has a difficult time choosing a favorite author, but two books she recently enjoyed are Winter of the World by Ken Follet and Out of the Silent Planet by C.S. Lewis.

We feel that these new faces will be a huge asset to our Library Board. If you see them in the community or the library, please introduce yourself and let them know what you enjoy about the library and thank them for their service to our community!
