At the Sioux Center Public Library we continually strive to improve our service to our patrons and one way we’re doing that this winter is through our new online registration. Here’s a few reasons why we’re starting this:

  1. Provide patrons with an easy way to register no matter our library hours. Parents have many things to do throughout the day and online registration makes it easy for you to sign your child up for a program no matter the time.
  2. Ensure our registration process is fair to all patrons. We advertise for our programs weeks in advance, but with busy schedules some people may miss our notices of programs coming up and once it’s full are disappointed that they can’t get their child in to the program. We will consistently be opening registration for our recurring programs such as LEGO Clubs, children’s book clubs, crafternoons and story hours and advertising those registration start dates. If you miss registration for a session you can be prepared for the next time it opens. For our January – May 2016 programs registration has opened on December 15!
  3. Provide fun, quality programs. Some of our programs, such as LEGO Club, have limited space. We often only have enough staff and LEGO supplies for 40 kids so we limit how many can attend and if you didn’t register we are unable to let you attend the program. We do, however, listen to the interests of our patrons and have opened additional programs to accommodate interest or we add staff assistance when needed.

Register online by going to our website and select the ‘Calendar’ button on the top menu bar. Find the program you’d like to register for and click on that program. This will open up a new page with a description of the program, the dates and a link to registration. You can continue to register in person at the circulation desk or by calling us at 722-2138.

We hope this new online registration helps make our programs more accessible and allow us to better able to provide fun, quality programs for all kids.
