The Sioux Center Public Library is excited to celebrate Children’s Day/Book Day, also known as Día Day, on Friday, April 29 starting at 1:00pm. Día is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
The year’s celebration will include Lisa Laird’s Pockets Full of Fun puppet show, cultural arts, music, food and a book giveaway! There is no school on the afternoon of April 29 so this is a great time for children & parents to spend time at the library in a program that is educational & fun. No registration is required, just come and bring your friends to celebrate books, children, cultures, languages, and reading.
Our 2016 Día celebration is made possible by the ALA and Dollar General Literacy Foundation’s “Día Turns 20”grant.
