Cloud Library (used to be 3M)

3M is a library of e-books that the Sioux Center Public Library has purchased. The books may be checked out for 2 weeks and return automatically after that time. With shorter hold lists than Wilbor and a user-friendly interface, 3M provides a pleasurable reading experience. Instructions for KindleFire.

Overdrive (Bridges)

Overdrive (Bridges, formerly WILBOR) offers ebooks & audiobooks. Overdrive books are available for rural Sioux County and Sioux Center library patrons. There is a limit of 3 books at a time.  The books return after 2 weeks. In addition to the full collection, Overdrive has dedicated kids and teen reading rooms, so that your children see age-appropriate content.

OneClick Digital


OneClick Digital is a collection of audiobooks that you can download and listen to for 2 weeks (renewable). OneClick Digital offers shorter waiting lists than Wilbor. New bestsellers are added quarterly. Now includes a limited selection of ebooks.

Arbordale is a collection of children’s books with science or math connections.  All of the books include pictures, audio, and quizzes. In addition, teacher resources and activities are available that correlate with each book.

TumbleBooks & TumbleBooks Junior


TumbleBooks Library is a collection of animated, talking picture books, read-alongs, Tumble TV, puzzles and games for children.  Teacher resources are available. TumbleBooks Junior includes ebooks for juniors, read-alongs, graphic novels, videos, and audiobooks.

Freegal is a collection of music. Why pay for music when you could download it for free through the library? Each patron may download 5 songs every week and they are yours to keep!  They never need to be returned.

Zinio is a collection of over 50 different magazines that you can download and read for free through the Sioux Center Public Library. There is no limit to how many magazines you may download and you do not have to return them. You’ll never have to wait for a magazine!

When you check out your first magazine you will need to create a new account, BUT if you use the same email address and library card information, your previously checked out magazines will continue to be available to you. News for You

News for You offers easy to read news stories that can help you learn to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Seven new stories are posted each Wednesday, along with audio, exercises, vocabulary, and a poll. Listen to each story in full or sentence-by-sentence.

Basic ESL

basiceslBasic ESL improves an individual’s listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through a simple to follow, and instructionally proven curriculum. Students learn English quickly and effectively on relevant topics including: family, home, school and many other topics. In each lesson students learn key vocabulary and how to use that vocabulary in conversation. No computer experience is necessary.

Encyclopedia Britannica allows you access to a full encyclopedia. Now you can read all the articles from your house. In addition there are videos that you can watch, download, and use in school presentations.

EbscoHost is a database and research tool. It has articles, full text magazines, newspapers, and reference tools. There are 9 databases including auto repair, small business, Explora for Primary Schools, Explora Educator’s Edition, and Job and Career Accelerator. Consumer Reports is now included!

Newspaper Archives

Search newspaper archives of Sioux County newspapers. Among the included papers are the Sioux center News, Hawarden Independent, Alton Democrat, Rock Valley Bee, Sioux County Index Reporter, Ireton Examiner, Sioux County Capital Democrat, Sioux County Herald, Hull Index, Sibley Gazette, and Hospers Tribune. Go to the site to see a full list of papers and years.

dlDriving-Tests.org, a company dedicated to driver safety and education, to offers free DMV practice tests to library patrons. It includes free tests, written specifically based on the state DMV materials, and is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask sections of the screen for greater visibility on driving practice tests.
